CRITERIA
FOR CTEI AWARDS
Following are the descriptions of the five CTEI Awards presented
at Summer Conference. Please check the information carefully for
the appropriate award criteria before making application.
CTEI
PROFESSIONAL EDUCATOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD
PURPOSE:
To recognize career-technical educators who have made the
highest meritorious contribution to the improvement, promotion,
development, and progress of career- technical education.
CRITERIA:
To be awarded to a CTEI member for service beyond that expected
of a career-technical teacher, teacher educator, career counselor,
State professional-technical staff member or career-technical
administrator. The nominee generally would have served as
an officer in ACTE, CTEI, or one of its Divisions in a leadership
role. This individual would have been an active member of
the Association for a number of years, encouraging membership
of others and helping to improve the image of career-technical
education through development of programs, services or communications
for students and the public.
CTEI
TEACHER OF THE YEAR
PURPOSE:
To recognize teachers who are providing career-technical education
programs for youth and/or adults in their respective fields and
communities. Recipients of this award must have made significant
contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs that
improve and promote career-technical education.
CRITERIA:
1. Currently employed as a full-time classroom/laboratory teacher
in a career-technical setting within the past 10 years.
2. Contributions/achievements should have been made within the
past 10 years.
3. Nominee shall have been involved in ACTE/CTEI Association activities
at the regional and/or national level.
4. Nominee must have been a member of ACTE and a state/territorial
association for a minimum of the past five consecutive years.
5. Nomination must be sponsored by an ACTE/CTEI member or a Division
affiliated with both.
6. A State nominee selected will be forwarded at a later date
to Region V ACTE for consideration.
CTEI VOCATIONAL COUNSELOR/CAREER EDUCATOR AWARD
PURPOSE:
To be awarded to a person or persons who have rendered outstanding
service to career-technical education and their students in career
decision making and supporting vocational choices appropriate
to their career goals.
CRITERIA:
The recipient must have made significant contributions toward
innovative, unique, novel programs, improvements, promotion, development
and progress toward a comprehensive program of career guidance
preparation for career- technical and/or practical arts education.
In addition
to significant contribution to their assignment, the individual
must have been active in career-technical professional organizations
and an active member of the Idaho Career Guidance Association
for a period of at least five years.
CTEI CAREER EDUCATION RECOGNITION AWARD
PURPOSE:
To recognize individuals and/or organizations that have made outstanding
meritorious contributions to the improvement, promotion, development
and progress of career-technical education.
CRITERIA:
The award will be presented to individuals and/or organizations
outside the field of career-technical education whose contributions
have statewide significance, and whose activities above enabled
career education programs to respond more fully to the individual
needs of people for assistance in achieving more productive lives.
CTEI
NEW PROFESSIONAL AWARD
PURPOSE:
To be awarded annually to outstanding individuals who have
served not more than five (5) years in career-technical education,
from each of the vocational service areas: Vocational Agriculture;
Business Education; Career Guidance; Health Occupations; Family
and Consumer Science; Marketing Education; Industrial Technology
Education; Trades and Industrial Education; and Individualized
Occupational Training
CRITERIA:
Respective service area professional groups shall nominate each
individual. Nominees must be active members of ACTE and
their respective Divisions.
