Eligibility
and Funding
All CTEI members are eligible
to apply. Teams of two or more may also apply for a single award. An individual
applicant may be a member of more than one team.
Support for professional
development under this grant program includes any combination of a stipend,
fees for consultation services for course and media design, costs of the
purchase of qualified equipment or materials, fees for access to facilities
and services for the development of instructional and research materials,
or fees and expenses for registration and travel to qualified educators
development activities. [NOTE: Funding is not awarded for new computers,
professional licensures, certification, or memberships.]
The amount to be awarded
in each funding round will be determined by the CTEI Board at its meeting
and will be announced as part of the Request for Proposal. Each funded
proposal will receive an award of up to $200.
Granted funds will be awarded
directly to the faculty member or team. The grant will be paid upon announcement
of the award.
In this round of awards,
each project must be completed no later than September 1, 2002 (for Round
1) and March 1, 2003 (for Round 2). Completion of the project is defined
as performance of the proposed activities, and the submission of a written
report documenting project impact.
Proposal
Submission and Processing
Applicants may use the on-line
application or print and complete the form in hardcopy
(Word). Proposals must be submitted to the CTEI Assistant to the Finance
Committee Chair on or before March 1, 2002 for Round 1 and September 1,
2002 for Round 2. The awards will be announced by March 16, 2002
for Round 1 and September 15, 2002 for Round 2 or at dates that coincide
with the Fall and Spring CTEI board meetings.
Professional Development
Grants are awarded through a review process. All members of the CTEI Awards
Committee will review proposals.
Grant Review Criteria (Be
sure to address ALL of them in your proposal):

Direct improvement of professional
expertise, in discipline, or instructional activities (70%),

Direct classroom application
or benefit to students (20%),

How are you going to be able
to tell if the use of the new knowledge was successful (10%).
